My favorite schematic/pcb design software is the open-source KiCad suite available here. An active Yahoo users group can be found here.

As with all such programs, the libraries are never complete, but users are continuously updating them. Below is my contribution ... a library of vacuum tubes, or valves as the folks on the old continent would say. This is a zip file containing N9GOD-valves.lib and N9GOD-valves.dcm and is free for downloading and use.

The library is not complete, but I add more to it each week. The last update is indicated next to the download link. The following conventions were used in the creation of this library:

1. All schematic symbols are drawn to the same size, in USA style.
2. Multi-function tubes, such as dual-diodes and dual-triodes, are present in two formats - first as a single envelope, and second as seperate units, such as Unit A, Unit B. The second option is designated with the tag ALT after the tube number. Unfortunately, for multi-function tubes that contain different structures, i.e. a triode / pentode combination, it is not at all simple to create a multi-part format.
3. Most tubes have multiple aliases, as the tube basing is the same among many different tubes.
4. Unused pins are present in the library image but NOT in the schematic.
5. Pins that are connected together internally are also connected electrically in the library, but are set to NO DRAW so as to leave schematics uncluttered.
6. Although most of the tubes have designated footprints, they are not present in this archive at this time. I will get around to it ... someday.
